In this paper, we present an approach that uses Gaussian mixture densities to model and recognize objects in unconstrained images. The parameters of these generative mod-els are reﬁned discriminatively. In addition to the appearance of the extracted patches, we consider absolute and relative positions of the patches. I am a Professor of Statistical Machine Learning at the Department of Statistics, University of Oxford and a Research Scientist at Google DeepMind.
